Over 25 years in business

We are a second-generation family business supplying, engraving, and erecting headstones and memorials in the Western Isles of Scotland. Martin operates out of his workshop overlooking Broad Bay in the village of Gress where he carefully engraves all sorts of stones; from polished Indian granite to rugged Scottish boulders.

You may already be familiar with our shop on Church Street in Stornoway—however the shop premises is now shut, and we are now operating from the workshop and on the move in various cemeteries throughout the isles.

Bespoke memorials

If you are looking for a memorial that’s a little different to the types listed above, we have shown here a few examples of special requests from customers. If you want to order a bespoke memorial, please get in touch.

Additional Lettering

We can add inscriptions to existing headstones, and we do our utmost to precisely match the type and colour of the existing lettering.

In addition to this service, we also offer cleaning. Time can wear down any stone, but this is especially true in the Outer Hebrides with our weather-beaten cemeteries looking out over the wild Atlantic. Even if you don’t need additional lettering, if you have noticed that the headstone of your loved one is looking a bit worse for wear, we can restore it to prime condition.
